Chemist job openings
Finding a job in a laboratory can be tough. Believe me, my wife went through the same thing after graduating from college with a chemistry degree. There are not many jobs in the science field. At laboratory assistant Jobs, they can help you find jobs in the industry across the nation. I ran a search for chemist openings in the Los Angeles area and found many.
Now is the time to buy a LCD TV
There are many great deals on LCD televisions now. If you are looking to buy, now is the time to do so. I have been looking for something to replace are Sony tube in the living room. I am debating if I should wait until Black Friday to find a better deal. I do not want to hang the television on the wall, so I will have to take a look into tv stands. The good part is that I am not in a big hurry, so I can sit and wait for the best deal to pop up.
Car battery Reviews
This past week my wife’s car battery died. There are many places that offer replacement optoins:
1) I can go to an auto mechanic for an Interstate battery. These are the best and most reliable, but they can easily run $100-$200. For most models, they offer a 85 month warranty. Places like Firestone also sell these batteries.
2) I can go to Sears for a Die Hard battery. These are the popular choice among many people. These are priced around $100. They offer a 3 year replacement warranty and 100 month prorated limited warranty. I think they also charge a $13 installation fee.
3) I can go to Sam’s Club for an Energizer battery. These offer a 3 year warranty. They are inexpensively priced for $60-70 with free installation. The con is that there are crowds during the weekend for tire changes, but if you go during the off hours, it should not be that bad. Costo is similar, and they offer a Kirkland brand battery.
4) I can call AAA service. They will come to your home to change your battery. They also offer a 3 year warranty on their own brand battery. I do not know the price because I have never tried this service.
I ended up deciding on the Sam’s Club battery. The reason why is because there is one close to my house. I took the car in on a Friday afternoon, so there were no crowds at all. I was out by 15 minutes. The battery with tax and installation only cost less than $70. My second choice would of been to Firestone or Goodyear to get an Interstate battery.
I also considered Wal-Mart. They offer a good reviewed Duralast battery for about $75 with free installation. But with Wal-Mart, you have to deal with the crowds and slow service. Not worth the savings to me. The Energizer battery ended up being cheaper anyways.
The Camry came with a Panasonic battery which we have never changed. It has lasted us about 7 years. Hopefully this new one can last that long. I recently also purchased an Interstate battery for my car. That was $170 with installation. My old battery lasted about 8 years.
Life insurance is a must
Having a family I realized I needed to purchase life insurance. It is good to have the piece of mind that they are taken care of if something were to ever happen to me. Luckily my company offers life insurance to their employees at a small amount, but not that many people are that fortunate. Check out this site for life insurance rates online from Wholesale Insurance. They offer excellent coverage at great online prices.
J.C. Penny $10 off $10 coupon
This past week I received in the mail a J.C. Penny $10 off $10 coupon. I occasionally get these in the mail, and they are great. It is basically like them giving me $10. I always use this to get clothes for our 3 year old son Brandon. Last year I was able to get him 2 pair on shorts and 2 shirts for the $10 coupon.
I only get $10 worth of clothes to optimize the coupon’s value. We never shop at J.C. Penny, so I do not really spend any money there. But if I am getting free $10’s worth of clothes then I am going there.
Sometimes you are even lucky, and you catch items in clearance. These will only cost about $2 each, and you can get multiple items. So check your snail mail for anything coming from J.C. Penny these next couple of days. There is an online code, but that requires you to pay $4.50 in shipping cost. You can find the code at Slickdeals.net.
Study up on cancer
We have a close family that has recently passed away from cancer. She was unfortunate. Even with chemo is was not enough to cure her. With cancer, it is sometimes not detected until it is too late. She had the quick spreading cancer, lymphoma. Normally when this is detected it is already do late. There are many different types of cancers out there including malignant Mesothelioma as well. This is an asbestos caused cancer that affects the body’s vital organs. So it is important that you have your yearly doctor checkup, they can find these before it is too late.

Lower prices in Supermarkets
Have you noticed lower prices at your local supermarket when you go shopping? Big chains like Albertsons and Ralphs are advertising new lower prices. And if you do go to their stores, you do notice the price drops.
Earlier this year, many of stores like Ralphs and Vons limited and even eliminated double coupons. I think this hurt business along with the economic down swing. Even for our family we have stopped going to Ralphs and Vons this past year because of this. I am sure many families are doing the same. In order for these markets to gain back their customers, they are force to reduce prices.
So now even if there is no double coupons, you are still getting a good deal on the weekly sale items. So check out your local supermarket, you will be surprised at some of the prices you see for your favorite items.
