Getting hit with spam comments

I have been getting hit with a lot of spam comments on this site. That that many, some days I may go with none, but some I may get around 5. I just end up deleting them. Most of these comments are just links to other sites. And it has always been the same person dumping these comments on my site. I recognize the IP address. To avoid this problem in the future, I have been turning off my comments. I will start doing this after this post for all of my future posts.

Another spam comments I have been getting are just short quotes like, “Nice job, webmaster.” I delete these immediately too. The person probably is posting these messages on every site he or she visits to put their link on my site.

House hunting - A foreclosure in Redondo

Today we went to look at a single family residence house in Redondo Beach. It is a bank foreclosure listed at $550K. It is a decent size house with 3 bedrooms and 1 bath. The kitchen and bathroom need upgrading, but it is in move in condition. Everything else in the house seemed to be kept in good condition, nice wooden floors, freshly painted walls.

The problems I saw were that it is the 2nd house from a major street, so you can hear a lot of the traffic. Another problem is the roof. It is a wood shake, and that needs to be replaced. The cost will probably be around $10K. The kitchen needs to be renovated, cost for that can run about $20K. The lot is big, so you can extend the house more toward the back, maybe increasing the size of the master bedroom and adding another bathroom and family room. That will cost a LOT more.

The neighbors, most were OK, but some seemed not. Overall, I saw a lot of potential in the house. I think it is a good investment if you have the money and time.

Got termites?

We had noticed some termite droppings in our garage. But we did not want to deal with tenting our house. Now is the time to move your money back to these accounts. Hopefully you did not put it in a long term CD with lower interest rates.
