I was browsing thru the internet, and I came upon this interesting site at Forumer dot com. It is a site just dedicated to forums. In fact they are one of the largest forum hosting websites out there. You can post a topic or discuss about one already there. It is a good way to adverstise your company in these forums. There is a high amount of traffic visiting these forums. And you can get the free press from it.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

On the lighter side… I took these pictures of my son. He is 20 months old, and he knows how to use a laptop already. So maybe he will have a career in computers?

I also too this one of him with a Krispy Kreame hat… maybe a cook?

Kids can be fun at this age. I am surprised that he does know how to use the laptop. He enjoys playing Sesame Street computer games. He already knows his ABC’s which makes it fun for him. He is not just randomly pushing buttons.

Google Pagerank

Your Google Pagerank is important. The paid opps you get are based on your Google rank. The higher you rank the more opps you get, you also get better paying ones too. I recently got this message from Smorty on how to increase your Google rank. Basically they are telling you to remove any tags from your posts relating to PPP for example, “hire me” and “review me”. I copied the message below if you are interested in reading it…

Smorty would like to offer you some advice on this issue. Google has primarily targeted PayPerPost member blogs and reduced their Page ranks across the board. Although this WILL NOT REDUCE your rankings or readership, your blog will receive more campaign offers if it has a higher page rank. To prevent any future loss of page rank due to this issue you can take the following steps:

1. Remove all sponsored post tags on each of your posts. Google can follow these tags to determine if you are being paid for posts.
2. Remove any PayPerPost tags on your posts for “hire me” and “review me”. Any general affiliate banners are fine to keep.

Styling on Casual Friday

Many people do not know the hows of casual friday yet. By that meaning how to dress. Most people come in with a tucked in polo with khakis and tennis shoes. But does that make an impression? You do not want to go overboard with khakis, it is becoming a thing of the past. How about trying a nice pair of faded jeans instead of the khakis? The Gap is the best place to shop for these types of jeans.

A short sleeve dress shirt does not count as casual. Instead try a long sleeve t-shirt or fitted polo. Or you can go with the t-shirt under the dress shirt with folded sleeve. 

As for shoes, you do not want to be wearing actual tennis shoes. Skechers has shoes that are in between casual and dressy. Even their sport shoes have that dressy look that can be worn with a fitted polo or dress shirt. They also sell nice boots there too.

The secret is not dressing “old”. Even older people can dress young and get away with it.

Actual Black Friday shopping

I hope you guys were able to catch some of the Black Friday deals I listed on my prior post. I hope you didn’t wake up at 11am, and go to the stores at noon expecting to find a $300 laptop still there. All these were probably gone within a minute after the store opened at 6am. Most people camped out overnight to make sure they got these deals. You just have to decide how much is a $300 laptop worth to you.

My wife started her shopping at 5am in the morning. I joined her at 6. We were able to pick up the 19″ LCD HDTV with a DVD player at Target for $199, and we also find some deals at the mall.

But for the hardcore Black Friday shoppers things started a lot earlier, whether it was camping out overnight or going to the midnight openings at the outlet mall, they were serious shopping. The standard keeps getting higher every year, many stores opened at 4am. There were a lot of doorbuster deals from 4am-noon. But don’t wait til noon to go, or you will be waiting in line for a least a couple of hours (see Old Navy, if you want an example).

Most serious shoppers had a plan of attack. They did not waste browsing. They got what they needed and left. We did that, and we were done with our shopping by 8am.
