Milinium Generation Pt. 2

The main problem facing today’s grad on their first job is boredom. Especially in the Business career, things are not as exciting as they expect it to be. Basically when you enter a company, you are not going to be doing anything of real a challenge or importance. You really have to work your way up. Patience is always the key, not quitting or complaning, that won’t get you anywhere.

Six Sigma Training

When you have the chance, take Six Sigma training. Usually companies will offer it to their employees, since it is a way to better work flow or improve a process. It is simalar to the Total Quality Management training, you have probably received. Our company actually even gives their employees $500 if they take the 2 week course, but you must have a project to work on. Once you have completed this, they will give you your Green belt. If you have worked on enough projects you can actually apply for your Black belt and join the company’s Six Sigma team and become a mentor to the new project’s going on.

Open up a Golden Spoon

The newest rave in the health cautious L.A. diet has been frozen yogurt. Thousand new stands have been popping up. It is a perfect cool down from the hot L.A. weather. A good one I tried with Brandon this weekend is Golden Spoon. It almost taste like real ice cream, we tried the original vanilla. Most locations are in California. And if you go to their website, they give you info on how to start up one of their franchises.

Problems with the Real Estate Job Market

On my previous post I wrote about getting started as a Real Estate Agent. This post will talk about the current problems in this job market. Current both the seller and buyer market is slow. Houses are on the market longer, and there are not that many buyers out there. Seriously, how many people can afford a $600,000 home? 2 years ago it was a better market on both ends, but it has reached its peak.

Another problem facing agents is the timid buyer. These are the buyers that make you show them hundreds of houses, but they never make an offer. An agent should recognize this after a while and pass on this buyer. It may sound mean, but then you do not want someone to be wasting your time.

The commission for a Real Estate Agent is good, but there are some cautions that you must be aware of before taking the plunge.

Real Estate Agent Career Option

For those who are interested in Sales, a Real Estate Agent may be a good career option for you. The money is really good, for example, you sell a house for $600,000. You will get 2.5% commission, that is $15,000. If you represent both the buyer and seller, you will get the other half of the commission too, making your total commission $30,000. Not too bad on just one deal

In order to get your license you will need to pass 3 real estate exam courses and pass the state exam. You can take one of the classes first, Real Estate Principles and go take your exam. The other 2 courses have to be completed within 18 months.

After you get your license, you will need to sign up with an agency/broker. Basically you need a place to hang your license before you can do any transactions. Do your homework first before signing up with any agency. Check on office costs, commission splits, and if they offer any assistance to new agents.

High Interest Online Savings Account

If you want liquidity in your savings account and you do not want to lock up your money in CDs or Mutual Funds, you can open up an online savings account. The going rate for the top interest accounts are 5.05%. You can get that with Emigrant and HSBC. However I personally prefer Ingdirect. Their rate is only 4.30%, but their site is the most user friendly. Plus they do not place long hold when you transfer your money in or out. Another online account to consider is Citibank. Their rate is 4.5%, and they also include a $50 bonus when you sign up.

Earn Money Thru Blogging

With sites such as Payperpost and Smorty, you can now earn money through advertising on your blog. Advertisers will pay you around $5-$15 for you to write a 50-300 word review on their site or service. To register with Payperpost you need to have your site up for at least 90 days and have at least 20 posts. And the higher your pagerank (popularity) the more opportunities you are going to get.

So what are you waiting for? This is one of the easiest ways to make money online.
